Event Details
For the final event in The Road I Call Home event series, join usin decorating small wooden birdhouses using natural, and recycled materials. This activity uses the birdhouse as a metaphor for home; not only as a physical structure, but as a feeling of dignity, safety, and belonging. Consider what "home" means to you while creating a brand new custom home for our feathered friends just in time for spring! The project is accessible for all skill levels.
The Road I Call Home is an art exhibit that documents the stories of 32 people experiencing homeless–men, women, children, and the elderly–to build empathy and compassion for the unhoused community. The photographic portraits, from the lens of multi-award winning photographer and humanitarian Randy Bacon, reveal the beauty, dignity, and identity of each person. The exhibit opens on January 29 at the Civic Center Library and will be on view through March 13.
