The Globe for All Tour brings free, live, professional productions of Shakespeare and select productions from our mainstage to diverse multigenerational audiences in the neighborhoods throughout San Diego County. Since its inception in 2014, the Globe for All Tour has made theatre matter to more than 11,000 people. With production values scaled to non-theatrical venues such as gymnasiums, cafeterias, and multipurpose rooms, the tour gives audiences an intimate, up-close, and visceral experience of live performance and fosters a shared sense of community between performer and spectator.

 

For the Summer Shakespeare Festival of 2024, Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein has adapted
and will direct a city-wide collaboration of William Shakespeare’s epic historical drama Henry the 6th. The
production is thrilled to invite San Diego community members to help conceptualize, design, direct and perform
alongside a professional cast and crew of theatre-makers. The presentation of this text marks the completion of
producing Shakespeare’s full canon at The Old Globe. It will also be a community-wide celebration of our local
partnerships that have evolved over the last decade through our Arts Engagement Department.
 Join the professional production team behind Henry 6 and learn about their hands-on approach to developing
the technical elements of the show, as well as a chance to participate in creating a design element that will be
featured in Henry 6!
