Friends of the Library Books Galore & More Holiday Fundraising Event

The Friends of the Oceanside Public Library will host their Books Galore and More! annual fundraiser offering books and other holiday gifts for sale at bargain prices on Saturday, December 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Civic Center Library Community Room at 330 North Coast Highway.

Since its inception in 2019 the Friends’ holiday fundraiser has been known as Gifts Galore! but, says Friends President Chris Wilson, “During our 2021 event, feedback from the community told us that they wanted an even larger and more varied selection of books to choose from, along with the artworks, puzzles and other gift items.  This year’s event will reflect that change, as does the event’s new name of Books Galore and More!”

Early bird shopping for Friends members only is available from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., and memberships may be purchased at the door.  Renowned author and linguist Richard Lederer will be on hand from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with his books for sale, including his most recent, The Complete Pleasury of Word & Phrase Origins.

Books Galore and More! will offer an opportunity drawing on items donated by Oceanside merchants.  Drawing opportunities also include a week’s stay at the Club Wyndham Flagstaff, a 2,200-acre retreat in the mountains of Arizona, February 11 through February 18, 2023.
