Join our memela cooking class with Carmen Colon taking place on Thursday, November 2nd at 5 P.M., at the Crown Heights Community Resource Center. Memelas, or memelitas, are delicious masa-based snacks made on a comal or griddle, that are typically topped with black bean paste, crumbled cheese, and a fresh salsa. Carmen Colon, owner of the Oaxacan restaurant Cocina del Carmen in Vista, will guide those in attendance in making this simple, savory snack. Registration is not required, and all materials will be provided.
