Join the Oceanside Public Library in celebrating Women's History Month with author Shilpi Somaya Gowda.
Shilpi Somaya Gowda is the New York Times bestselling author of 3 novels: "Secret Daughter" (2010), "The Golden Son" (2016), and "The Shape of Family" (2020). Her novels explore complex relationships of women, identity, family and loss.
In college, Shilpi spent a summer as a volunteer in an Indian orphanage, which seeded the idea for "Secret Daughter", about a baby girl in India who is adopted by a family in San Francisco. "Secret Daughter" is currently in production to be a feature film, starring Priyanka Chopra and Sienna Miller.
